Common questions

How do I invite my parent to use Aged Oak?

You create an account for yourself (as a family member), then invite your parent to create their account. They can set you up as an emergency contact, and you'll see their dashboard. It takes about 5 minutes total.

Can multiple family members see the same information?

Yes. Your parent authorizes what each person can see. You, your siblings, and other caregivers can all have access to the same dashboard and get the same notifications.

What if my parent forgets to check in?

Your parent gets a reminder notification. If they continue to miss check-ins, you can set escalation rules (like sending you a notification after 2 missed check-ins). This helps you reach out when needed.

Is location tracking always on?

No. Location sharing is opt-in, and your parent controls whether you can see it. They can turn it on or off anytime. The default is off for privacy.

Can I see my parent's medical information?

Only if your parent shares it with you. They can choose to share blood type, allergies, medications, conditions, and doctor contact info with specific family members.

What if my parent becomes confused or has memory issues?

Aged Oak is designed to be simple, and gentle reminders help with memory. If your parent needs additional support managing their account, you (as a trusted caregiver) can help manage settings and reminders.

How much does it cost to monitor my parent?

Monitoring is FREE for family members. Your parent chooses a plan (Basic is free, Premium is $9.99/month). You don't pay to be added as a contact or to see their dashboard.

What happens if my parent doesn't like sharing their information?

They're in control. Your parent can share as much or as little as they want with each person they authorize. They can also change settings anytime without telling you.
