What is Aged Oak?
Aged Oak is a wellness and safety companion app for older adults and their families. It combines daily check-ins, medication and exercise reminders, a one-tap SOS emergency button, optional location sharing, and an AI voice assistant in one simple, accessible app.
Is Aged Oak easy for seniors to use?
Yes. Aged Oak is designed specifically for older adults, with large text, high-contrast colors, oversized buttons, and a voice assistant so there is little need to type. Most people can check in with a single tap.
How will my family and caregivers be notified?
You choose how each contact prefers to hear from Aged Oak — by email, push notification, or text message (WhatsApp coming soon). Email is the default. They're told when you check in, and alerted if you miss a check-in. If their preferred way can't reach them, Aged Oak automatically tries their other channels.
Do my contacts need to download the Aged Oak app?
No. Email only needs their address. For push notifications, we give you a link to send them; they open it on their phone and tap “Turn on alerts” (on iPhone, they add Aged Oak to their home screen first). For text messages, they first get a text asking them to reply YES — nothing else is sent until they do.
How much does Aged Oak cost?
Aged Oak offers a free Basic plan with daily check-ins, reminders, and the SOS button. Premium is $9.99/month and Family is $19.99/month. You can cancel anytime.
Does Aged Oak replace 911 or a medical alert service?
No. Aged Oak assists in an emergency by making it fast to call 911 and alert your contacts, but it is not a medical provider or emergency dispatch service. Always call 911 directly in a life-threatening emergency.
Who can see my location and health information?
Only the family members and caregivers you explicitly authorize. Location sharing is an opt-in Premium feature, data is encrypted in transit, and Aged Oak never sells your personal information.
